HOW YOUR DONATION HELPS - The Trust has no paid employees, and all Trustees of the Trust serve as volunteers. This means that almost 100% your donation goes into health research and surveys, with a very small reserve used for communication expenses in sharing information and fundraising expenses such as shipping of items from the auction. Every dollar you donate gets us one step closer to putting the puzzle pieces together as it pertains to cavalier health. Our goal is to allow your cavalier to spend a longer, healthier life loving you. We are a 501(c) (3) organization so all monetary donations are tax deductible to the extent that IRS allows. Simply put, we can't do it without you. Thank you so much for your support!
Here are some ways to help that you may not have thought of:
Matching Employer Programs: Many employers have Matching Gift programs which would double your donation. Ask! You can also scroll down to see if your company does match donations!
Donations in Memoriam: We accept donations of gifts in memoriam of a family member, valued friend, or pet.
Direct Gift of Appreciated Securities: This method conserves the donor’s cash while helping to avoid capital gains tax on the sale of appreciated securities. The market value of the securities is deductible in the current year’s tax return. The donor should consult with their tax advisor.
Direct Gifts of Life Insurance: If you have a life insurance policy that is no longer required, transferring the policy to the ACKCSC Charitable Trust may provide benefits to both The Trust and the donor. The Trust would ultimately collect the policy value and the donor may be entitled to an income tax deduction in the amount of the policy’s value. The donor should consult with their tax advisor.
Wills: The donor may list The ACKCSC Charitable Trust as a beneficiary in their will. The distribution of the estate is then made at the donor’s death.
