“Willow” Artist: Chris Quinn
This is the third time that Chis has been the artist for the National Artwork. The sale of her originals has generated several thousand dollars for the Charitable Trust.
Chris began the portrait of Willow at the same time she began Camellia for the 2002 National Show. She began Willow with the intent to donate it to the AKC Dog Art museum. The picture was nearly completed when she discovered Artists are not free to donate their works. The picture sat uncompleted for 10 years. When asked to be the Artist for the National Artwork she realized that this was the incentive to finish the picture and donate it for the Charitable Trust.
Additionally at her own expense, Chris also had prints made and donated those to the Charitable Trust as well. A limited number of signed and numbers prints can be purchased from the Charitable Trust store on eBay.
