Each year, generous artists agree to donate a special work of original art - usually a custom framed painting - commissioned specifically for that year's National Specialty and featuring a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. The artwork is used for the cover of our show catalog and often on an Annual for the Club. The actual artwork is not revealed until it is displayed during the National Specialty at the Charitable Trust space in the ringside area. At the conclusion of the National Specialty, the Charitable Trust holds a very special event - a Banquet and Silent Auction. The National Artwork is auctioned off during this event and is one of the highlights of the evening. The money raised from the auctioning of the National Artwork has raised thousands of dollars over the years to help fund research that improves the quality of the lives of our Cavaliers. Artist: Dominique Oboyski

Dominique Oboyski is a formally trained artist who throughout her life always had a strong passion for art and for animals. Dominique is fluent in a variety of artistic subjects, including dog portraiture, still life paintings, traditional oil portraits and landscapes. With a strong passion for four-legged friends, Dominique looks forward to capturing many more dogs on canvas in the future.
Dominque shares her home studio with her two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. They have the sweetest “classic Cavalier expression” that are the inspiration of many of Dominique’s paintings and photographs.
Her previous commissions include family portraits, portraits of pet and show dogs and specialty wedding, birthday and anniversary gifts. Dominique’s artwork was selected for the juried art show at the Worth Ryder Gallery at the University of California at Berkeley in 2004.
Dominique finds it rewarding to donate her artwork to a variety of organization, such as the American Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club's Charitable Trust.
